Getting more from your Facebook page
It would seem that more and more businesses, companies and intact even people are using their Facebook pages to promote their business. And for many it works well. Why? Simply because they create the page, put up some content, and then advertise it at their shop. Sounds great right?
Yeah it is but you know there is a problem. Quite a problem in fact as Facebook is about interaction but what most businesses create is a very one way page. Business owners don’t use the page to interact.
Interaction on a Facebook page?
You see on every page you create there is an option to send the page owner a message. However the majority of business owners don’t realise that they need to keep an eye on these messages and ensure that they reply in a timely manner. In fact Facebook will tell visitors how quick you respond to messages. Imagine if a visitor came to your website and saw that you responded within minutes. Don’t you think that will make them more confident in you and your services? I think you know the answer!
It is key that you are monitoring the chats from your page and answering them quickly. I can hear you saying …
I have a business to run
I hear you, and the thing is if you spend all your time answering chats how are you going to get work done? Yup it’s a pain. When you think about it all the chats that you receive are probably going to be the same type of chats. For example on one of my pages I will get questions about Coaching, pricing, general help, contacting me etc. I used to spend an hour or two a day answering the same questions. Honestly it was time consuming but it had to be done.
Chat is the way to convert
If you look at any website you will notice an interesting trend – most major websites that have something to sell now have a chat system, which allows a visitor to interact with a customer service rep. This has been shown to massively increase conversions as people like reassurance. I know I love to see a chat box so I can ask questions.
This is no different on Facebook pages. In fact many small businesses are using Pages rather than having the hassle of a website, so it only makes sense to have and use the chat feature built in. However as I mentioned above, time is the issue! In fact I know a friend who owns a small health shop and she says she loses money because she forgets to reply to chats!
Two ways to fix this
Like everything there are two ways to fix the problem! Both involve getting someone to do the chatting for you. The first way however is the expensive way – hire a person to answer the chats! Yeah I know it’s an extra expense!
However, I came across a piece of software that will do the work for you.
Ok stay with me here! Basically this software automatically respond to chats for you! Incredible as it sounds it does work!
Here’s what you do, you set up trigger words (be these the common questions you are asked) and then you add in a reply for each of these trigger words.
When a visitor starts a chat and they say for example “hello”, the software will respond, “Hi Richard, great to have you here how can i help you?” Now at this point you can offer them choices which when clicked direct them to a web page or to more information.
If you’re intrigued check out the Chatbot here.
So it’s that simple?
Yes and no, it does take some configuration, but I have to say it works a treat. When I say configuration I mean you have to think about the types of trigger words and the response, but once you get it set up, it literally works 24 hours a day 7 days a week for you.
Take a look and let me know what you think – Chatbot is the way to go!
